About the Author

The author, by his own admission, became enchanted by the two rivers that are the subject of this book following his move from London to Southampton in 1973.

His early appetite for catching fish of any size gradually developed into a preference for ‘specimen hunting’, but on his own terms. He never felt comfortable chasing known big fish from favoured venues, preferring to exploit the size potential of the waters he fished anyway, nearly all of them club waters available to anyone.

He served in various roles with Ringwood & District Anglers’ Association from 1977-2002 and is proud that over the years RDAA advanced into a very progressive dynamic club. He worked hard to dispel some of the prejudices against coarse fishing in an area that was heavily biased towards game fishing.

As well as fishing stories the book includes warnings about some of the present and future dangers faced by these two beautiful rivers.

In addition to his own fishing memoirs Kevin has enlisted the help of some of the areas best fishermen to contribute to this fantastic read.
